This Easy Apple Cake is the Definition of “Fall Treat”
If you’re like me then you are a fan of fresh, fall desserts. Not only do I have a sweet tooth but that craving tends to be more intense when it comes to desserts with a lot of fresh ingredients – this recipe certainly takes the cake…(wink wink).
Géraldine Leverd, a French influencer who loves to cook and show off French cuisine, has become one of my favorite accounts to follow on social media. She shares delicious, simple, whole food recipes that cause me to almost save every post. That is how I came across this apple cake recipe. I was browsing on Instagram and that is how I found it.
I kid you not when I saw this is an easy and simple recipe. You’d almost have to work hard on screwing it up. This cake only requires 7 ingredients – 8 if you’d like to add a little bit of rum to your apples.
Here are the ingredients you’ll need for this cake:
- Apples
- Butter
- Eggs
- Flour
- Sugar
- Vanilla
- Baking powder
- Rum (optional)
I’m not sure why but I often seen rum in French and Italian desserts – more so on the latter since I’m obsessed with Italian food and have been trying many new recipes.
The “hardest” part of this recipe is slicing up the apples. They are meant to be super thin. You can use a mandolin or a knife, which ever you prefer. If you aren’t great with the knife and want thin slices, use a mandolin. Don’t have one? You can order one from Amazon for a super low price with Black Friday deals right now.
Another piece of equipment you’ll need is a springform pan. I use a 9-in pan for this recipe.
Now, I am sure you’re ready to get going. Let’s get baking!
