Ditch the Store-Bought: This Homemade Bread Will Change Your Life
Oprah and I have one thing in common – we LOVE bread!
Personally, I truly enjoy making bread but it can be a hassle sometimes. Many recipes require a lot of waiting for the dough to rise or needs kneading for at least 10 minutes.
I think one of the reasons why I enjoy homemade more is not only the smell of it in my house but it just tastes so good. Compared to buying a loaf in the bread aisle at a grocery store, it doesn’t compare. Now it may not last as long as that grocery store bread but I can say with confidence that it is much butter.
This is why homemade bread is so good for you!
Not just because it tastes so much better but it is healthier. There are no preservatives. It is all 100% natural and full of goodness.
I recently came across this sandwich bread recipe on Instagram and easily became a fan due to how simple it was, and the fact that it can all be made in under 3 hours.
The original recipe is from Shereen Pavlides – a great person to follow if you aren’t already! I’ve been a fan of hers for years as she shares such delicious recipes. There have been times where the majority of my “Saved” section on Instagram is her videos of great food.
So, what do you need to make this easy sandwich bread?
- Bread flour
- Active yeast
- Unsalted butter
- Salt
- Milk
- Water
- Sugar
What kind of equipment do you need? Some of that depends on your mood.
You’ll definitely need a bread loaf pan for the bread. You won’t just bake it in there but also do a second proof. You may want a nice big bowl for when the first proof occurs.
The easy way to making this recipe is to use a Kitchen Aid mixer. You would use the kneading attachment tool for about 2-5 minutes to mix everything up. You could knead the dough by hand but a stand mixer is the easiest way to make it.
Once you’ve baked the bread, cover it with your favorite toppings. I’m a huge sucker for cream cheese and if I have a sweet tooth then I’ll throw on some homemade jelly.
With that being said, the aroma of fresh bread is calling. Lets get baking!
